Hawksbill Crag, also known as Whitaker Point, is one of the most photographed spots in all of the Ozarks – and for good reason. This spectacular rock outcrop, shaped similar to the bill of a hawk, and protruding out from this large bluff, is a stunning site that brings people for miles around.
This 3 mile trail is a great hike for most everyone- Beautiful scenery; waterfall area; great for viewing wildflowers in the spring; outstanding fall color. The bluff “point” (or “crag”) is magnificent and a perfect lunch spot, and the view is worth the drive alone. For a scenic side-hike, take the trail west from the crag along the bluffline. You will eventually come across a neat bluff area where you can climb down to find a waterfall and a nice rock shelter.
