Paddle in Paradise, which is hosted by the Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association, is a family friendly event that gives locals the opportunity to learn about the sport of kayaking and try out various kayak models. Paddle in Paradise will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 9, on Lake Avalon in Bella Vista. Rain date will be June 16.

Weekly mountain bike ride around Lake Fayetteville. We'll hit the trail around 6:00 and ride one or two laps.

Come to the "Introduction to Hiking" clinic at Lewis and Clark at the Springdale store on Thursday, April 26th at 7:00 PM. Attending the program will be a great way to learn how to have a safe, enjoyable hiking experience. We will also discuss how to select the "right" hiking footwear, clothing and outdoor gear and explain where to find great area hiking trails and what hiking resources are available in NW Arkansas.

Learn about calculating the amount of food to bring on a trip, what type of food to bring, when to eat what, how much fuel to bring, and what type of stove to use in different settings. Outline provided.
Learn about backpack fitting, essential gear, how to properly pack your backpack, and backpack destinations. Outline and Gear list provided.
Learn how How to read a topographic map, how to use a compass in conjunction with that map to find your location or accurately get to another location. Outline provided.
Learn how to orient yourself on a map using a compass in a real-world setting at beautiful
Devil's Den State Park. Meet at the playground parking lot below Lee Creek Dam past the Visitor's Center at 10am sharp. Bring a sack lunch or a snack. Course will include 1-2 hours of instruction followed by practical application of skills hiking around Devil's Den. Call or stop by our Springdale or Rogers locations to register. The course fee includes an outline, orienteering compass and topographic map of Devil's Den.
